Buying a removal house and getting it relocated to your lot is quite a niche market. Technically, you can buy the house privately on facebook marketplace or gumtree or Trading Post, but if you have ever bought anything at all on marketplace you know it can be essentially like spinning the wheel with very little accountability or guarantees. And if it’s your first time, there can be a tremendous amount of unknowns and administrative nightmare.
There are a few specialist companies in QLD, NSW and VIC that offer a one-stop shop for house relocation. planning, coordination and all the necessary services along with performing the actual relocation and restumping themselves. While you could save money trying to find the property yourself, typically the feedback given from the house movers is “if you are seeing it on marketplace, chances are we have seen it too and there is a reason we haven’t snapped it up”. There are of course exceptions, but generally going through a trusted house mover will inevitably be a smoother process.

A general note of caution
Our experience was only with moving a house with BTHR. We are very lucky to say that us, our house, our money, and our time was treated with the utmost respect. The same cannot be said of all people that embark on this journey. It’s generally helpful to do your own due diligence in a few key ways before you engage with a house mover, seller, or otherwise middleman in this game and even then, take the necessary precautions to read the contracts in full etc.

QBCC License search - Lookup a QBCC Builder’s license including full history which would include any records of decisions made against that license
QBCC Adjudication search - lookup a “Respondent” to find out if someone has been a part of a claim.
ASIC Register - Search for a company name or business
ABN Register - Search for an ABN or Business name
